So yet again those slackers on the London Underground have called a strike. They have managed to do what the 7/7 bombers failed to do and disrupt the lives of those living and working in London.
These are the workers who get a short working week (35 hours), large wages (£35k plus), more holidays than a school teacher (37 days), discounted travel for themselves and their families AND a final salary pension but are still not happy.
Why?
Because the company that employs them has gone bust. It’s run out of money. I can’t for the life of me think how that could have happened with such a hard working committed work force.
So the unions have been seeking guarantees there will be no job losses, forced transfers or cuts in pensions as a result of Metronet’s collapse in July, when it went into administration.
The RMT have been given cast iron guarantees that no staff will lose jobs, pensions or be transferred as a result of Metronet’s collapse by TFL
So the union has been given exactly what it has asked for AGAIN but has chosen to strike anyway. After all it is also the week before the schools go back so maybe the workers just wanted a few days off with their kids.
In any event the leader of the RMT union (Bob Crow) is a thug and a borderline terrorist. Any excuse for a strike backed up by a load of work shy employees as long as it causes maximum disruption to normal people. Maybe it is just one big power trip by Mr Crow?
Perhaps we should sack them all and employ people who are actually prepared to work for a living?
