Planes + Mobile Phones = Hell

Up to now there have been a couple of places where you could escape the curse of the mobile phone. Underground (such as the London Tube) and in the air.

Well all this is about to change as it has now been announced that mobile phone use is to be permitted in the air. So far I have yet to hear a good word said about it.

HP Technology@Work 2008 – Barcelona

So it’s March 2008 and here we are in Barcelona for the annual HP event finding out what HP themselves are up to and what their partners are doing.

It is a 3 day event running from noon on Monday through to noon on Wednesday and is by invitation only. This year my invite came via Computacenter (thank you) who flew me out, put me up in a VERY nice hotel, fed me and entertained me for the trip.

So what’s it all about?

So the day has come to see if flying really can be easy.

Armed with just 1 suitcase that met cabin luggage size restrictions and having checked in online yesterday, I arrived at Heathrow T1 at 6am with the flight due at 7:25am

Lighter than light

So you may recall that for next weeks trip to Barcelona, I am taking just one regulation sized carry on piece of luggage.

So we now have said regulation sized case which is in the form of a Samsonite Cruisair hard case picked up for sensible money at the Samsonite factory store near Oxford. But now we have to try and fit everything inside it because is is pretty small.

So clothes are OK but there is the not so small matter of my Dell D630 laptop which takes up a lot of that space and weight.

So enter my new toy.
